Welcome Back! (Fall 2017)

Posted by Christopher Lester

Welcome back Scholars! May this semester be your best yet. For all new freshman, we would like to formally welcome you to the College Success Scholars program. We know that all the commotion that surrounds syllabus week can be overwhelming for first-year students. Make sure to remember who you are, make good decisions, and, most importantly, have fun. Your CSS brothers are here for you. Look to them for support. The GA’s and Dr. Lester are always available as a resource as well. Look to take advantage of events such as the First Look Fair. Also, make sure to converse with people on the floor of your dorm if you are living on campus. Remember you are a student first, do not let extracurriculars distract you from your academic goals!

Scholar Testimonials

Michael Akande
Class of 2017

CSS has made me into the scholar, professional, and individual that I am today. Since my acceptance into the program I have been blessed with countless opportunities and resources that are directly attributable to my success. As a team leader, seeing how the program has evolved since my freshman year has been eye-opening, and I am glad to have been a part of it. My involvement in the program has only worked to my advantage as I have gone on to apply to be a resident assistant (RA) on campus, and have been offered an internship opportunity for this upcoming summer, again, all as a direct result of my involvement with the CSS program.
