Thank you for supporting the College Success Scholars program. Your donation supports the retention of Black and Latino males enrolled in the program as well as further aids in their aspirations to academic, extracurricular, leadership, and professional development endeavors. The students enrolled in the program have a high rate of retention and graduation, engage in internship and research opportunities throughout the United States and abroad, travel to several countries throughout the world for education abroad experiences, and engage in leadership development programs that result in top tier career and graduate school opportunities. We have many student testimonials on our site, and your donations make these stories possible.

Your donation can directly support our scholars in the following areas:

Gala

Our Annual Gala is both a fundraiser and an opportunity to celebrate the enormous personal, academic, and professional efforts and accomplishment of scholars, parents, and the CSS community.

Leadership Development

Our professional development component provides field trip opportunities for our student to visit the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. Treasury, Inter-American Development Bank, Supreme Court, and other government, corporate, and nonprofit organizations. Businesses and organizations provide professional development workshops, internships, and research opportunities throughout the academic year.

Retreat Programs

The students engage in several team building and leader development activities at our two- to-three day annual fall and winter retreats.

Emergency Fund for Textbook, Tuition, and Living Expenses

The Emergency Fund provides a safety net for scholars who have exhausted all financial resources and would be forced to fall behind in their course of study or leave the University if they were unable to pay academic expenses.

Tutoring Program

The tutoring program provides ongoing one-on-one and group tutoring as well as review sessions for scholars. The tutoring program is essential to the ongoing academic success of our scholars and overall retention and graduation.

Multipurpose Room

The multipurpose room provides an affirming, supportive environment for academic and social activities. The room is equipped with computer stations, free printing, study tables, couches, and other amenities that contribute to the ongoing personal, academic, and professional excellence of our residential and commuting scholars.

Scholar Testimonials

Kwabena Yamoah
Alumni

I have been a part of different campus organizations throughout my undergraduate years and even now, in my second year of medical school, and from my experiences thus far, there is no program that comes close to the academic and professional development programs offered by College Success Scholars (CSS). Not only did CSS help me develop high expectations, it provided the help I needed to meet those expectations. Through the counseling and workshops, I felt empowered to achieve my goals. Sometimes it was difficult to see the vision the leadership of CSS was trying to impart, but looking back now, I can see it. I am proud to be a CSS alumni.
